The Furmint based Extra Dry is soft and elegant. The perfume reminds of white flowers, and the taste is undeniably Badacsony.
Our Laposa Extra Dry champagne was awarded the Mundus Vini Gold Medal. At the German Grand International Wine Award held for the 30th time, the best of the profession judged the wines received. Moreover, it also obtained a Gold rating at the 27th Berliner Wine Trophy International Wine Competition.
Furmint
Its origin is uncertain, however, its history traces back to the 13th century when it was found in Tokaj-Hegyalja, thus being regarded as a Hungarian grape variety. The variety is widely known for its sweet noble wines, yet the rest of the Carpathian Basin have used it for producing dry wines right from the beginning. Today, dry Furmint is getting increasingly popular in the Balaton Uplands as well. It particularly likes volcanic soil. According to linguists, the name „furmint” is a French borrowing which has its root in the Latin word frumentum, that means “crop”.

Our Extra Dry sparkling wine would be fine as an aperitif, but it could be a marvellous pair to a light appetizer or even to a dessert with a little bit higher aciditiy.
