Pinot Grigio, that means Szürkebarát at its best. A round and complex wine coming from our vineyard called "God’s steep". It has a light floral nose mixed with scents of white fruits. The 2022 vintage is mature and concentrated in the mouth, exuding intense flavours. The variety and the volcanic soil make a perfect match made in Badacsony. Why PINO then? Pinot Gris
A variety of French origin, hence the name Pinot Gris – called Szürkebarát in Hungarian. Later the Italian named it Pinot Grigio as one of their most favourite vines. It has been resident in Badacsony since as early as the 14th century. Legend has it that the variety was re-domiciled into the region by some nearby monks because they were in search of a grape that would yield a likeable wine in every single year with no sugar added. For there must be no sugar added to sacramental wine. Today, this variety is typically used to produce dry wines in the Badacsony wine region

With its lighter acidity it would be a flawless choice for appetizers. Fish, white meats -mainly poultries-, salads or heavier sauces with the characteristics of matured fruits.
